Mooring

The mooring gang is responsible for the safe and efficient berthing and unberthing of large vessels. Their expertise and coordination are essential for preventing accidents and correctly securing vessels against the quay.

When a vessel is manoeuvred into a berth, the mooring gang works closely with the vessel’s crew to secure the vessel to the bollards on the quay, ensuring that the lines are properly tensioned and secured. They also monitor the vessel’s movement and communicate with the vessel’s crew to make any necessary adjustments. This service is available at the Commercial Port and the Industrial Fishing Port.

SPA generates revenue from this service from berthing and unberthing fees charged to the vessels as defined in the Harbour Dues Regulations.
